Antiviral Research publishes research reports, short communications and review articles on the control of viral infections in humans, animals and plants. Its scope encompasses:
  • novel approaches to the prevention and treatment of viral diseases;
  • new antiviral drugs, including their synthesis, in vitro testing and mechanism of action;
  • assessment of drug safety and mechanisms of resistance;
  • novel vaccines for humans and animals;
  • therapeutic antibodies, interferons, interferon inducers and other host response modifiers;
  • animal models of viral diseases;
  • pathogenesis studies, especially those focusing on mechanisms by which viruses evade host immune responses.
